Put an End to Your Snoring
One of the biggest causes for people not getting an adequate amount of sleep at night, is their significant other snores. It is very common for a person to be woken up by their other half sawing wood in their sleep. This has also been a major cause for married couples to begin sleeping in different rooms and even a reason for divorce.
Before you make the decision to sleep in another room or even take a more drastic approach, you should first try all other available options. It might not be an easy quick fix, but if you can continue to sleep with your loved one and continue to be married, isn't it worth the time and effort?
There are several products currently available online and in various types of stores. However, before you begin to possibly throw away thousands of dollars on some of these items, meet with your spouses doctor. Discuss the problem with him or her and try to find the root cause for the snoring. The medical professional will have the best ideas and remedies for silencing your partner. He or she will also be able to determine if there is a health related reason causing the snoring problem.
You or your spouse might be able to make a few minor changes in their lifestyle and completely renew the relationship. One major cause for snoring is weight. If weight is the issue for you or your spouse, you can change your eating habits, go on an exercise plan and soon eliminate the snoring that is causing problems in the relationship.
Or an easier way to solve the problem could very well be a change in the way you are currently sleeping. If you sleep on your back, you might be able to switch to sleeping on your side to eliminate the snoring. If that doesn't work, you can try to sleep without a pillow. Sometimes, if you do not have a pillow to elevate your head, you can get comfortable, yet your neck muscles will not completely relax. If the muscles are not fully relaxed the soft tissue typically will not be able to move, so there is no vibration, thus no snoring.
On the other hand, you can also increase the number of pillows you use at bed time. If you increase the level of your head and neck, you can often have the same result as getting rid of the pillow. However, if this does not work you might want to begin looking into some of the options that are for sale on the internet or in many local stores.
You can find many different things from strips that you put on your nose to specialty pillows to help in eliminating snoring. There are also mechanical devices that are said to help in stopping snoring. Your doctor might also want to check your adenoids and tonsils to determine if there is an issue with inflammation.
You might also want to check into laser surgery for your snoring issues. This is a simple procedure. The most painful side effects are a sore throat that can last for up to ten days. Usually, an anti-inflammatory medication is prescribed and even a mild pain reliever for the discomfort.
